War

There was some talk a week or two ago that an American warship would appear in Filey Bay yesterday to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Flamborough Head. I saw no ships but heard fireworks in the evening (and saw their remains scattered on Royal Parade this morning). Last year, the 241st Anniversary was commemorated at the White Lodge Hotel.

Yorkshire Hidden History tells the story of the battle in just over four minutes.
