The births of George and Tom Edward were registered in Bridlington but their father, a policeman, was transferred to Filey soon afterwards and the boys were baptised at St Oswald’s. The young men married in Driffield – George took Kate Annie WILSON for his wife in 1910 and Lucy Jessamine STAGG became Mrs DUKE in 1911. Tom and Lucy raised their family in Driffield but George and Kate were enumerated in Bridlington in 1939.

Robert CAMMISH, was eleven years old when he first went fishing and 24 when he received his ticket.

He was 39 when he drowned off Filey and months passed before his body was found,

His widow was left with a house full of children to care for.
