In real life, George WALLER’s father was born in Norfolk, but he is currently masquerading as a tyke on the Shared Tree.

John Waller drowned in Filey Bay in September 1902. His body was recovered and brought to St Oswald’s churchyard for burial. Meanwhile, over in the West Riding, life went on for John WALKER. (Never trust a census enumerator – some are way too free with ditto marks.)

John’s memorial remembers his wife Mary Ann, daughter Lilian who died at the age of three, and elder daughter Sarah/Sally who married Walter STERCHI.

John Webster BULMER in St Oswald’s church – and on the CWGC website (below).
