Mary Ann FIGG is alone on Filey Genealogy & Connections.

On the Shared Tree Mary has many forebears and descendants. Her father is a person of interest because he appears to have made two journeys to the United States, dying in Florida. John Benjamin Figg was about four years old when his mother Sarah Susannah married James BRIANT, the father given to him by the Shared Tree.

Sarah’s mother married twice and her first husband was James HAWKINS – and this is Sarah’s birth registration.

Whatever, I was happy to see today’s birthday girl marry, have children and reach the age of eighty-six. (I think she was probably baptised at Cayton Primitive Methodist chapel rather than Filey’s Ebenezer.)

On Wiki Tree, Francis CHANDOS-POLE was baptised on 25 March 1866 in Radbourne, Derbyshire, where the substantial family home was situated.

FG&C says that today is the anniversary of the infant’s baptism at St Oswald’s in 1864.
The Shared Tree, bless it, offers sources for both ceremonies.
It is not unusual for infants to be baptised twice. But why travel 120 miles with a babe just eight weeks old when the blessing could be accomplished on the doorstep, so to speak? That there are Sacheverells amongst the Chandos-Poles (and the earlier plain Poles) raises the possibility of SITWELL relative involvement. (Renishaw is about forty miles from Radbourne.) There is also the morphing into the de la Pole family to consider. The Shared Tree takes the forebears of Francis some distance into the past, introducing us to some Kings of England on the way to the arrival of the Conqueror – and beyond.
Frederick William PEPPER was a chemist from Mexborough who married Mabel Annie BARWICK at Filey St Oswald’s. He doesn’t bring any ancestors with him to FG&C. Mabel has a few forebears who lived for a while in the town but were born elsewhere in Yorkshire. The Shared Tree shows her relationship to Francis SMITH of Cliff House Charlotte BRONTË’s “landlord” when she was a holiday visitor to Filey.
Margaret Lilian JACKSON was the second wife of John DARLING, son of anniversary couple Aaron and Mary Maria (22 May). John is still waiting for his first bride on the Shared Tree.
Richard WHITE, coastguard, is not yet married to Jane POTTS on the Shared Tree.
