There has been little interest online today in Sergey Lavrov’s revelation about BZ poison. A longer version of the Foreign Secretary’s announcement has been posted on YouTube. It raises other matters that could make the present UK regime uncomfortable – but they have been in circulation for several days. I couldn’t find any “post-Lavrov announcement” references to BZ by other Russian Federation representatives. I expect they may wait until Theresa May has spoken to Parliament tomorrow before sticking the boot in. Give her a bit more rope. Or perhaps they will keep quiet about it, having decided they quite enjoy the spectacle of clowns at the wheel of HMS Perfidious Albion. (I had somehow missed the Russian accusation that British Intelligence had been responsible for the Douma “fabrication”.)
The human casualty total of Trump’s Strike is either zero dead or four, and all the cruise missiles hit their targets or 71 were shot down by venerable Soviet Union era defense systems. POTUS seemed to be well pleased with the attack but it doesn’t seem like value for money for taxpayers of the three aggressor countries. Unless you put a high value on terrifying families in houses near the targets that were hit. One factory that used to make an antidote for snake bites was on the edge of a housing estate. It is very welcome that the strike was so feeble, intentionally it seems now, and Nikki Haley’s “locked and loaded” threat is probably idle bluster.
Today’s viewing included a short introduction to Syria’s misnamed “civil war” that taught me a lot I didn’t know – Deceit. I also happened upon a 6-year-old interview with Bashar al Assad. The rude harridans from the BBC, Sky News and Channel 4 could learn a lot about interview technique from Sophie Shevardnadze. What a thoroughly decent fellow President Assad seems to have been in 2012. He answered every question openly and some of them were quite challenging. Judge for yourself whether he could turn into an “Animal” who enjoys gassing children or may still be a decent, humble man.
