Stalled

I have struggled today to compile the Anniversary grid.

Birth A note on his record in my RootsMagic database said that John William, born this day 1876 and baptised at the Ebenezer on 16 April, had died before 1884 – to make room for John William the Second. The successor was more successful, reaching marriageable age and earning a place on the Shared Tree [L5TH-C5J]. The first JW didn’t make it to his first birthday.

Baptism  In twenty years of marriage, before he drowned from Jerome, John COWLING had at least ten children with Ann CAMMISH. I had Robert Cammish Cowling born in 1839 but lacking a death date. He seems to have dropped his middle name, making him more difficult to trace. In 1851, he is the only child with his widowed mother in Chapel Yard on census night. I have lost him thereafter. He has a FamilySearch ID [L4BB-ZCC] but I haven’t checked his marriage to Alice GOWLAND yet. (She is shown to have lived to the age of 91 but is bereft of sources.)

Marriage  Robert FENBY was born in  Filey parish but is without parents in Filey Genealogy & Connections. There’s a note that in 1871 he was a grocer in Wykeham, the home village of his wife Hannah POTTAS. The Shared Tree is more forthcoming.

Death Fanny ElizabethBAXTER lived to the age of 76. Her husband, ‘Jack Sled’, and others in her family, were lost from Research in 1925. I put a photo of the headstone remembering the tragedy on FamilySearch a while back. The stone has been cleaned since then so I have uploaded another picture today.

Burial I hope to photograph the PAWSON headstone in the next few days.
